Flax Seed Raita Recipe

A creamy bowl of delicious lauki or bottle gourd raita infused with the goodness of flax seeds

In this easy to whip up, delicious recipe for flax seed raita, we combine the goodness of flaxseed with creamy, calcium rich yoghurt to make a scrumptious raita. Bottle gourd (lauki), flaxseed and yoghurt come together with fresh mint leaves to create the perfect accompaniment to your meal.

Flax Seed Raita Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp flaxseed, roasted and ground
  • 1 cup bottle gourd (lauki), grated
  • 1 cup yoghurt, whipped or well blended
  • 1 heaped tbsp mint leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera), roasted and ground
  • 1 cup water
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Combine the bottle gourd (lauki) with water. Cover and cook on a low flame for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Mix the cooked bottle gourd (lauki) with all the other ingredients. Blend well.
  3. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes and serve chilled. 
  4. Enjoy the goodness!
