Work From Home Outfits: 5 Looks We Love

What to wear when you work from home

Business meetings peppered with school runs; a day of back to back Zoom calls while overseeing homework, and answering questions like What should I cook for dinner?”; running a quick errand between working on a strategy presentation…it’s all in a day’s work when you’re a work from home mother! After having worked from home for over a decade now, I’ve learned a trick or two about maximizing productivity and making the whole work from home gig work. And one of the things I realized early on is the importance of dressing the part, even when there isn’t an office to get to.

It can be easy, even charming, to romanticize working from home and imagine sitting at your laptop in your pajamas. It may even work for some, but for me, the whole ritual of getting ready just helps get into ‘work and productivity’ mode. Plus, fashion is always fun and just because you’re working from home doesn’t mean you don’t get to dress up! Here are 5 looks that I’ve been wearing and loving, if you’d like to see.

1. Black Linen Trousers, FableStreet

Black trousers are a must have, whether you work from home or out of an office. These black linen trousers from FableStreet are perfect for those long work from home days or even when you have to step out for meetings. They’re made out of a soft, breathable linen that is perfect for Mumbai weather and have a wonderful fit. FableStreet focuses on finding the best fits for Indian bodies and I love the mid-rise fit, elasticated waistband and comfortable fall of these trousers. Pair them with a crisp white shirt or a printed top and you’re ready to take the work day on!

I arrived at the dresses-for-work party pretty late in life, but now that I’m here I just can’t get enough of it! I think dresses are that secret arsenal every woman must have up her (dress) sleeve. They’re no-fuss, easy to wear and oh so versatile! You can wear them to be in supreme comfort all through your work day and they go perfectly well for meetings or even a quick coffee catch-up with a friend in the evening. This soothing sea green wrap dress by AND in a linen blend is perfect for beating those mid-week work blues.

And last but not the least, there are coords! I adore this black coord set from Only in a rayon blend. In a super relaxed wide leg, high rise fit the pants go beautifully with the paired V-neck, wrap top. In a textured, crinkled fabric this outfit makes for a relaxed, yet elegant look. You can accessorize it to dress up or down, and as always style the top and bottom separately for a gazillion different looks!
