Welcome to the first edition of Small Things by Wellthinest.
My Insta feed is full of advice about how I can optimize, improve, upgrade and transform my life. But when it comes to health and wellbeing, I’ve often found that it’s the small things that make the biggest difference.
A seasonal fruit enjoyed at its peak. A quiet walk. A beautiful sunset. A good conversation. A show that brings the family together after a busy day.
For the last one, these days even finding a show the whole family enjoys feels like a small victory. How I miss the good ‘ol days when we could turn on Peppa Pig and the kids would be ecstatic. Anyway, moving on.
So every Friday, I’ll be sharing a few small things that made my week a little better. I hope you’ll share yours in the comments too 🙂
Mango season

There is something deeply satisfying about eating fruit when it’s in season.
I’ve been enjoying mangoes this week and reminding myself that healthy eating doesn’t always have to be complicated. Sometimes it can be as simple as enjoying a perfectly ripe mango and appreciating it for what it is.
Watching the sunset before dinner

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been making more of an effort to pause and watch the sunset whenever I can.
It’s only a few minutes, but there’s something about that transition between day and evening that helps me slow down. The emails can wait. The chores can wait. For a brief moment, the sky takes centre stage.
Evening walks with my son

One of my favourite parts of the week has been taking short evening walks with my son before he heads off to play.
The walks themselves aren’t particularly long and we don’t always talk about anything profound. But I’ve come to realise that some of the best conversations happen when you’re walking side by side rather than sitting face to face.
These little pockets of connection feel especially precious as children grow older and begin to spend more time in their own worlds.
A family watch: Made In India – A Titan Story

We’ve also been watching Made In India – A Titan Story as a family after dinner.
I’ve been thoroughly enjoying it. Beyond the nostalgia, it’s fascinating to watch the story of an Indian company that built trust, aspiration and an iconic brand over decades.
It’s become one of those small rituals that gives the day a pleasant ending.
Those are my small things this week.
I’d love to know:What’s one small thing that made your week a little better?
